Celebrating Jamie

Jamie’s 29th 46th birthday was a couple of weeks ago. We celebrated the day in Wallace with some of our good friends. The following weekend, I reserved a table for two at Mana restaurant in Leavenworth, Washington.

Mana was highly recommended by my friend Susie in knitting club. Jamie said several of the docs he works with also love to eat there.

We had a fantastic meal! My favorite part was that instead of saying I can make this at home Jamie kept saying I would never make this at home!

I’ll let the photos tell the story:

There is one seating each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 6:30. The remaining days of the week Mana is a yoga studio.
These notes were on our napkins to greet us. The staff consisted of three wonderful people who made us feel like warmly welcomed guests in their home.
The menu is set by the chef. Eight courses on Friday and Saturday and five on Sunday. We dined on a Sunday and plan to try the eight course experience next time…maybe for our wedding anniversary!

First Course: we had so much fun trying all the combinations on our gorgeous plates!

Second Course: so many delicious flavors!

Third Course: berber (pronounced bear bear) is an Ethiopian spice that I’ll be searching up for Jamie’s Christmas stocking gifts next year 😊

Fourth Course: it was hard to choose a favorite flavor on this plate because each item was absolutely exquisite! I remember saying to Jamie how sad I’d be to have sauce leftover after the crepe was gone…such a balancing act in a place where using a spoon to swirl up the last bits of sauce is frowned upon!

Fifth Course: non-dairy homemade ice cream on a pine stick? YES PLEASE!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Mana and can hardly wait to return! The next day Jamie told me it was the best meal ever…and I would have to agree! Happy Birthday to Jamie!
